02Make sure your files are MP3 or WAV format. Most burners won't take anything else. AAC files from Apple Music need to be converted first.
03Grab a blank CD-R disc (not CD-RW — those are rewritable and some players won't read them). 700MB holds about 80 minutes of music.
04Open Windows Media Player or iTunes. Drag your songs in. Arrange the track order how you want it — this matters! A mix has a vibe.
05Choose "Audio CD" not "Data CD" — audio CDs play in every car and CD player. Data CDs only work in computers or fancy players.
06Hit burn. Do NOT touch the computer while it's burning. Seriously. It will mess up the disc and you'll have a very sad coaster.
07Label it with a Sharpie. Write the date, a title, a little drawing. This is the most important step. That's what makes it a real mix CD.
